Last time I have posted my observations on the Remember Password feature of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. Today it got even worse! Not only MSSMS forgets my password on a random basis, It prevents me from logging in with a correct password! Yeah I have written about it last time, but this time I have entered the right password - 100% sure of that, and despite dozens of connect attempts it always said that login or password is incorrect! So I have retyped the exact same password and voila, after second connect attempt it worked.

Now. I know that there is SQL Server 2005 service pack comming out soon, but does anyone know if the login window will be fixed? Come on! Its only a UI with few imputs! How hard can it be?

I got the exact same problem. It's damn annoying. The Service Pack CTP doesn't fix it, so let's hope the final release will.

Mads, You are a breave one and have no fear at all! Few times I have installed Microsoft's "beta" products only to suffer from it when the final version came out. Since then I have learned no to install important product or update from Microsoft, that is not RTM.
My history includes: LINQ previou which disabled refactoring in Visual Studio and made some other things not work. Framework 2.0 Beta (various versions) and Express Editions of various product, which at some point made themselves unremovable. And the list goes on :-)
On the other hand I really like cutting edge and so I alwyas have beta versions of software less important software.
